Decent stay, room for improvement

I booked a hotel in Miami for a business trip last month. The booking process was easy enough, and I got a pretty good rate with the Genius discount. The hotel itself was fine, exactly as pictured. However, I tried to change my check-in date a week before, and while it was technically possible, finding the option on the site was a bit of a maze. Customer service eventually helped, but it took a few tries. Delivery of the booking confirmation was instant, which was good. Overall, a solid experience, but they could make date changes more intuitive.

Smooth hotel booking, good support

I recently booked a hotel stay in Miami for a business trip. The ordering process on the website was straightforward, and I received an instant confirmation email. Delivery, in this case, meaning access to my booking details, was immediate. A few days before my trip, I needed to confirm an early check-in, and the customer support chat feature was quite responsive; I got a reply within 15 minutes. The hotel itself was exactly as described, though the photos made the room seem a bit larger than it was in person. Overall, a reliable service for finding accommodation.

Good hotel, easy booking

I booked a hotel stay in Miami last month. The website was straightforward to use. Found a good rate for a place near the beach. The booking process was quick. Hotel was as described. Satisfied with the service.

Reliable for finding stays

I've used Booking.com several times now, and it's always been consistent. This last trip, I booked a holiday home in Colorado for a family vacation. The search filters made it easy to find exactly what we needed, and the photos were accurate. Prices are generally competitive, especially with the Genius discount. My one small complaint is that sometimes the map view can be a bit slow to load, but it's a minor thing. Overall, I keep coming back because I trust them to deliver a good selection and straightforward booking.

Convenient, but slight hiccup

I booked a flight and hotel bundle for a trip to New York. The process was mostly smooth, and the combined price was decent. I liked that I could see different flight times and hotel options all in one place. The confirmation for the flight came through quickly, but the hotel confirmation took a bit longer than I expected, maybe an hour or so, which made me check my email a few times. Everything worked out fine in the end, and the stay was great. Just wish all confirmations were instant.

Reliable for quick trips

I've used Booking.com several times now for short hotel stays. Just booked a guest house in Seattle for a weekend trip, and everything went smoothly as usual. The search filters are really useful, though sometimes I wish they had more options for specific amenities. Always find good deals here.

Good value on family vacation

I was looking for a good deal on a family vacation, specifically an apartment in Orlando, and spent a while comparing sites. Booking.com had a pretty decent mobile-only price for an apartment near the parks. It wasn't the absolute lowest price I found, but the free cancellation option made me feel more secure, which was worth a little extra. The booking process was straightforward, and everything worked out great. I'd definitely check them out again for future trips.

Loved my Florence apartment!

I booked a gorgeous apartment in Florence for my vacation last month and it was absolutely perfect! The location was amazing, right near all the main sights. Finding it on the site was super easy. I'll definitely use Booking.com again for my next trip, already planning one for next year!

Wondering if it's better to book direct with the hotel or through Booking.com? Sometimes it feels like direct would be cheaper but then Booking.com shows all these deals.

D David Torres 1 month ago
It's a mixed bag honestly. Sometimes direct is cheaper, sometimes Booking.com has those Genius discounts or mobile app deals that beat direct. I usually check both before booking. Often, Booking.com's cancellation policies are more flexible too.

I usually just go with Booking.com. Easier to manage all my reservations in one place if I'm booking multiple places. And their 'price match' thing, while I've never used it, suggests they're trying to stay competitive.

Does Booking.com have a student discount? Trying to save some cash on a spring break trip.

J Jeff Williams 1 week ago
I don't think they have a specific student discount program like some other sites. Your best bet is to look for their seasonal deals or the Genius program, that usually saves me a few bucks.

G Grace H. 1 week ago
Not directly, but if you sign up for their Genius loyalty thing, you get pretty good discounts after a couple of stays. And sometimes there are 'getaway deals' that can be decent.

Anyone know if you can actually use promo codes on Booking.com? I keep seeing ads for codes but then I never see a spot to enter them when I'm checking out.

B Betty Williams 2 weeks ago
They're a bit weird about promo codes. Most of their discounts are automatic, like the Genius ones or if you're on the app. If you *do* have an actual code, it usually pops up at the very last payment step, almost hidden.

L Lisa Ramirez 1 week ago
Yeah, it's not like other sites where there's a big box. I think I only used one once, and it was right before confirming payment. Most of the good deals are just built into the site, especially if you're logged in as a Genius member.

Are those 'Travel Sustainable' badges on some properties actually legit? Or is it just greenwashing to make them look good?

B Brittany D. 1 month ago
They actually have a whole program for it. Properties have to meet certain criteria to get the badge. It's not just random, they explain it on their site if you dig a bit.

N Nick 1 month ago
I think it's pretty legit. They partnered with like, scientific groups to develop the criteria. It's not perfect but it's a good start to find places trying to be more eco-friendly.

Hey guys, thinking of booking a hotel in Miami for spring break through Booking.com. Are their 'free cancellation' deals really free? Or do they hit you with some hidden fees later?

A Amanda Scott 1 month ago
Yeah, I've used it a bunch. As long as you cancel within the specified window, it's genuinely free. Did it once for a trip to Orlando that got messed up, no issues at all.

A Amanda N. 4 weeks ago
Mostly free, but always double-check the fine print for *that specific* booking. Some places might have a really tight cancellation window, like 24 hours before, so don't miss it.

Hey, I'm looking at a hotel for my trip next month. I see a 'mobile-only price' when I check on my phone, but not on my laptop. Is that real, or just a glitch?

I Ian Lee 2 weeks ago
Nah, it's real. Booking.com does those mobile-only deals sometimes. You gotta book through the app to get it.
3
S Sean Davis 1 week ago
Yeah, I've seen that too. Pretty annoying if you prefer booking on a bigger screen but sometimes the discounts are pretty good, so worth it for me.

Thinking of booking a flight and hotel bundle for my vacation. Are those actually cheaper than booking them separately on Booking.com, or is it just marketing?

J James Thompson 2 weeks ago
In my experience, sometimes they are! I've gotten better deals bundling, especially for popular destinations. It's not always a huge saving but it's something.
4
R Robert A. 2 weeks ago
It can be. I'd definitely compare the bundle price against booking the flight and hotel individually on their site, and maybe even check a different flight site just to be sure. But often the bundles are set up to give you a discount.

Does Booking.com have student discounts? Planning a Europe trip on a super tight budget and every little bit helps.

S Sean White 3 weeks ago
I don't think they have a specific student discount program like some other sites do. Your best bet is to sign up for their Genius program, you automatically get Level 1 after a couple of stays and then the discounts start rolling in, usually 10-15% off.

J Jason Turner 3 weeks ago
Nah, never seen a dedicated student one. Just look out for mobile-only prices on the app, those are usually pretty good deals if you're flexible with dates.
